Jane established Jane Fisher Associates Ltd (JFA) in October 2013, following 25 successful years of leadership, management and operational activities within initially education and then local authority environments.
Jane has effectively forged a new career leading the company; the change in direction and desire for success energising Jane and unleashing an entrepreneurial streak and hidden creativity to drive the business forward. Her personal commitment, risk-taking, resilience and dogged determination have proved essential qualities to make the company the success that it is today.
When Jane set up JFA, her initiative and leadership skills, developed and demonstrated throughout her varied career came to the fore, enabling her to work effectively with a wide range of organisations to successfully deliver services and projects. Her experience and extensive range of project management and transferable skills have proved invaluable in supporting a diverse range of clients from both the worlds of business and education, her flexible and personal approach enabling her to engage with colleagues from all sectors – from international corporations to local micro-businesses, to deliver results.
Jane started an ‘unplanned’ career as a teacher working her way up the managerial ladder before taking a ‘leap of faith’ into local authority consultancy and project management roles within Barnsley MBC, where she led national policies. She harnessed the potential of partnership working to diversify opportunities for young people and adults, delivering national workshops on her achievements.
Jane’s successful track record supported her promotion to a Lead Officer role in the East Riding of Yorkshire Council in 2012, where she led the development of the 14-19 learning and skills strategy and its implementation across the Learning Partnership, prior to setting up JFA.
Martin has followed a successful and varied career spanning over 30 years within a range of sectors, including retail; commercial advertising photography linked to FMCG (fast moving consumable goods) marketing and sales; education; construction and projection management.
Martin has worked for blue-chip companies including Nestlé UK, where he was Head of Photography, handling the promotion of products such as Kit Kat, Yorkie & the rest of Nestlé and formerly Rowntree products, before running his own studio in Leeds. Martin was one of the pioneers of commercial digital photography in the UK introducing this into Nestlé, where he also developed the technology to combine photography and 3D imaging for commercial applications.
Martin went on to use his creativity to research, develop and build his own energy-efficient family home, which turned into a catalyst to become an expert in ‘green’ construction technologies. This led to roles including Manager of the Think Low Carbon Centre, Barnsley which through European Funding, show-cased all the developing green energy technologies, and worked with national bodies (i.e. BRE) and SMEs to disseminate this knowledge and promote up-skilling within the construction industry. Martin also ran ERDF projects relating tot his field.
Martin’s unique knowledge, coupled with project management skills, led him to become Technical Director for Site 4 Self Build, an innovative approach to bring cost-effective, energy-efficient housing to the market, supported by the Homes & Communities Agency.
Martin works as an Associate for JFA bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge from across a variety of sectors – both private and public, including partnership working, creative solutions, project management and problem solving.

We have worked with Andrew from Brand To Market for several years providing marketing and design solutions for our clients that are out of the box, work and are bespoke to each project.
