Xefro, an enterprise with a new product going to market, required interim support to help manage and co-ordinate a range of activities via a mix of office based and virtual support, as well as attendance at external meetings.

The interim support enabled the directors and managers to delegate some of their responsibilities, so that they could focus on developing and promoting the product, ready for market.

Support provided: 

  • Facilitation of Research and Development grant applications, summarising technical details and co-ordinating company information
  • Co-ordination of technical information for Patents, Trade Marks and Intellectual Property applications
  • Liaison with higher education institutions regarding support for product testing and funding applications

Leadership and Management Training - Leeds Jewish Welfare Board

Jane Fisher Associates were approached by the Leeds Jewish Welfare Board, a charitable trust, following a recommendation, to deliver Leadership & Management training to the CEO and her senior leadership team.

Following consultations to understand the client’s business and to assess key priorities, the outcomes of the staff training session were determined as follows:

  1. To explore the challenges facing the organisation and therefore colleagues
  2. To consider effective working practices for the team

The day programme included a variety of discussion activities and interactive workshops to engage the team, based around the
following topics:

  • Customer Service

Engagement with the local community and organisation of two regional events - Siemens PLC

Event Management

As part of the Siemens Hull Project, the team required support with the engagement of the local education and skills communities across the city and the three neighbouring local authorities – the East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire, to showcase how the company and its partners could support them.

Jane Fisher Associates were recommended for the role, and provided a range of consultancy support to manage two regional events. The speakers included national and regional partners including the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Sheffield and Greenpower Education Trust electric formula car racing.

Consultancy Support delivered:

  • Liaison with Siemens’ colleagues across the country to establish support and materials available
  • Co-ordination of the event: venue hire, audio-visual equipment, room layout, catering, speakers, delegate materials and event packs
  • Marketing of the event, delegate bookings and registrations
  • Event evaluation

Humber Employability Skills Passport – Humber LEP

This project included an evaluation of current practice of the delivery of Employability Skills Passports across the Humber, and the development of an Employability Skills Passport Validation Framework for the Humber LEP.

The project was part of the Humber ESF and SFA funded ‘Skills Support for
the Workforce’ programme.

Over the 7-month project we delivered:

  • Strategic leadership and management of the project across the Humber
  • Management of Humber-wide consultation events and meetings
  • Development of partnerships across business and education networks
  • Active engagement of 50+ employers & education organisations in the project
  • Delivery of support to partner organisations
  • Evaluation of current Employability Skills Passports across the Humber
  • Development of the Employability Skills Passport Validation Framework
  • Development of a suite of resources to support the variety of stakeholders
  • Delivery of monitoring reports to the LEP Employment and Skills Board
  • Writing of an Implementation Plan and 3-year Communication Strategy
  • Branding of the associated Framework products
  • Evaluation of the Project

Business & Education Together, a ‘not for profit’ company, needed to take the business forward with a new identity.

Jane Fisher Associates delivered a package of support to help establish a new vision and goals for the company and to maximise opportunities to meet government reforms and the needs of a changing market.

We helped the business to develop a unique portfolio of services compared to their competitors, to enhance their presence in the market and extend their contracts with a broader customer base, as a step to becoming a ‘leading light’ within their sector.

The package included:

  • “Out with the Old – In with the New” – a day of facilitated workshops to explore the business and opportunities available
  • Research on similar organisations’ services
  • Mapping of current services to national policies and other drivers to identify opportunities to enhance the service portfolio
  • Planning of the new service offer
  • Development of a range of ‘mix & match’ branded promotional information sheets highlighting the company’s services
  • Identification of an implementation time-line to phase in new services
